My New Desk

It has been so long since I last posted any news. It turns out that planning a wedding and working in a school eats up a lot of your spare time.... 

However, I have been keeping busy, I have a series of paintings I am working on, hopefully I'll have some previews up for you soon. I have started making the mountains of bunting I need for the wedding and last but not least.... I have been re-vamping my miniature studio (desk in corner of sitting room!): 

It was a lovely shaped but horribly dark 60's writing bureau with a nasty wood veneer. Not the most creative space in the world. But now, with the help of my lovely (and very patient) fiancé, we have sanded it back to wood and painted it in lovely pale green and cream. It took over a week to get it just the way I wanted it with a lot of stamping-of-feet, hammering-of-thumbs and the odd swear-word in between. Despite the minor tantrums, I am delighted with the result! So much more fresh airy and happy. What do you think?

I'll now be able to sit here, by the lovely big window, at my bright and cheerful desk without feeling like I'm in a cave of gloom! Let the Creativity Flow!

Good Intention?

For my 'Illustration Friday' submission I thought I'd pick on my lovely Airedale Terrier who sometimes has some less than Innocent intentions, especially when it comes to food! I still love her though! I have been meaning to draw her for a while and this gave me a chance to practise my digital skills, which are not great yet but I am getting there.

I hope you like her as much as I do!

Glue Gun Fun

I was given a new glue-gun as a present (He knows me so well) so I decided to experiment with it today and this is what I came up with:

Was so simple to do and a great way to use up some old buttons, recycle some cardboard and test out my new gun! I had lots of fun, addicted now, want to glue gun everything in sight!

Crochet Creatures

A while ago a friend introduced me to crochet animals and now I'm hooked. I have made bears for friends, nephews and new babies. It is a lot of fun but it still takes me a while. I hope you like what I have created.
